Super Easy Tasty Puff Pastries

DSC03237

Sean had a wave of inspiration on Sunday and we whipped up these amazingly simple puff pastries for a pot luck dinner with friends.

Ingredients:

puff pastry sheets  (1 box makes about 14 pastries)
chocolate chips
mini-marshmallows
caramel sauce (we made ours from butter and sugar and creme, but its also sold in stores)
walnuts
1 tsp melted butter

(Full recipe behind cut)

1.  Pre-heat oven to 400

2.  Defrost pastry sheets according to directions.  Cut in rectangles about 2.5″ wide.  Separate half of the squares on buttered cookie sheets, save the other half for the covers.

3.  In the middle of each bottom, place about 5 chocolate chips, 3 mini-marshmallows and a few walnut pieces.  Spoon 1 tbs of caramel sauce over the mixture.

4. Place the other half of the pastry squares over the bottoms. Crimp the edges with a fork.

5.  Brush the tops of the pastries with melted butter.

6.  Bake at 400 for about 30 minutes.  Our oven is wicked old so this is a very rough estimate.   They are done when they are golden brown -  Check them often!
